On April 29, 2015, Dr. Cross issued a memo to GT’s Deans, ADRs, School Chairs, and IRI Directors on the proposed FY16-FY17 F&A rates. This was done based on feedback from campus to assist with better planning for potential rate increases in proposal budgets. The information shared was the FY16-FY17 rates we submitted in our proposal to the Office of Naval Research (ONR) but stated that they were being provided for planning purposes only and cannot be included in any proposal submission until they are approved by ONR. Unfortunately, in spite of an earlier than normal submission of our rates proposal, we have not yet received approval from ONR for those F&A rates.
We have received provisional approval for use of the
proposed FY16 Tuition Remission rate in proposals and need to remind you that
since the Industrial Rate does not require approval by the government, it can
also be used in proposal submissions.
FY16 Rates
Industrial
F&A Rate (Non-Federal, International, and Non-Georgia State
and Local Government entities) - 61.8%
Monthly
Tuition Remission Rate - $1,489.00/monthly
I hope Dr. Cross’ April 29, 2015 memo was shared with you
but below is an excerpt from it.
“These proposed rates have not yet been approved and are
provided here for planning purposes only. The rates cannot be included in
federal proposal submissions until the Office of Naval Research (ONR) approves
the rates.”
At this point, we expect that we will begin FY16 with
provisional F&A rates which means that they are interim or temporary rates
pending completion of review/approval by the government.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter and encourage you to contact us if you have any further questions.
